The door may seem closed, but it’s only closed the way a supermarket door is closed.It stays shut when you remain at a distance, but as you deliberately move towardit, a magic eye above it sees you coming, and the door opens. God is waiting forus to walk forward in obedience so he can open the door for us to serve him.5

When you demonstrate faith by taking specific steps in obedience to God, he is more than willing to intervene supernaturally in your life. Through it all, just hold on to the words of King David: “Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun” (Psalm 37:5–6).

That promise ought to give you confident hope in God’s help and strength through all of the challenges you’ll face today, tomorrow, and for the rest of your life. And into eternity as well, but that’s the topic of a later chapter.
